Smudging is the practice of burning sacred herbs, resins and woods for purification, healing, ritual and ceremonial purposes. You can think of smudging as incense with meaning and purpose. Banjara smudging incense combines the benefits of smudging with the convenience of regular incense sticks. You don’t have to worry about charcoal and messy resins, you simply light a stick and you are good to go.
Smudging can be done by anyone, irrespective of religion or beliefs, and there are instructions on each packet to help get you started. But always remember, the most important thing with smudging is intention. How you do it isn’t as important as why you are doing it.
I ask for tranquility of body, mind and soul. Give me stability and help me feel whole. My mind now silent, quiet and still. I give thanks for calming energy as a wish you fulfill.
With Banjara’s smudging incense range, the focus is on pure and natural fragrance. There are many nag champas out there in incense land. Most of them are very good and a few of them are truely great. This is one of the better ones. It is a bit more floral than the ever-popular Satya Nag Champa, but at the same time it has more depth to it than Goloka Nag Champa. We suspect that Banjara Nag Champa contains halmaddi, the magical ingredient that makes a truely great nag champa. We can’t say for sure, because Banjara hasn’t listed the ingredients, but we can say that this is a very very nice nag champa.
Nag Champa is the incense of Wonder. Its name is derived from Magnolia champaka, which is cultivated as a sacred plant. It has traditionally been burned for meditative ceremonies and it can evoke emotions of nostalgia, passion and relaxation. Nag champa can be a potent ritual incense because of its wonderful stress-reducing qualities. You can use this incense for meditation or stress relief or you can incorporate it into your own smudging rituals.
This incense’s totem animal is the Turtle. The symbol of good luck, associated with long life, protection and fertility. The turtle can live on land and in water, and can serve as a mediator between them.
We highly recommend the entire Banjara smudging incense range. The fragrances are excellent and the packaging is both attractive and informative. Banjara incense is made in India. This incense is handcrafted, eco-friendly and ethically produced. The purchase price buys twelve 15g packets.
Each packet contains approximately 10 sticks.
Each stick is approximately 23cm (total length) and has a burn time of roughly 55 - 60 minutes. Exact burn time can vary depending on a number of factors and your burn time may be a bit longer or a bit shorter.
